PrideFest Volleyball 2011

Believe it or not, planning and preparation for the volleyball events at PrideFest 2011 are already underway. I'm pleased to announce that we will again be partnering with the Milwaukee Gay Volleyball Association this year to host the open play volleyball as well as the volleyball tournament. The tournament for 2011 is going to be bigger than ever, with four courts set up for competitive play in addition to the two courts for open play. This is a wonderful opportunity for GAMMA to get involved in a community-wide event, and we hope that we'll generate even more interest in GAMMA that ever before.

We've already got a small working group made up of myself and a few members of the MGVA board, but we need more help. Right now we're meeting about once a month to work out the preliminary plans, put together a budget, and to start working on putting together everything needed for an event such as this.

It would be VERY helpful for me to have two or three other GAMMA members involved in this process and to help get things organized. Rather than wait until we're only weeks away from the event, this year I am reaching out to you and other members now asking for help early. Please consider taking part in this process and helping us put together another wonderful volleyball event. GAMMA received a lot of positive recognition in the community for our involvement in last year's tournament, and with your help I know that the coming tournament can be even better.
